We had record-breaking attendance at our annual Connect conference and trade show this year, and we know all of our pharmacists and vendors would agree that 2017 is the most innovative and educational year to date.
Despite reports of a tropical depression, there were only blue skies and sunshine (and an abundance of Louisiana humidity) at Connect 2017 in New Orleans. Hundreds of PioneerRx users attended classes in the Astor Crowne Plaza, the setting for this year’s conference that overlooks the bustle of Canal Street.
“Connect is always a wonderful event that allows me as a pharmacy owner to network with many like-minded entrepreneurs. Pioneer Rx gathers speakers from different areas of pharmacy with stories of success. They undoubtedly encourage and challenge you to push your practice further. Pioneer Rx effectively trains us on new features of the system that help manage our business both financially and clinically. Thanks PioneerRx for providing us with a software product that understands how diverse we need to be and builds features to help manage tomorrow not just yesterday.” – David Figg, Rice Pharmacy
With the industry buzz around enhanced service networks, this year’s classes were based around collaboration. Along with the software-centric classes taught by internal PioneerRx employees, industry leaders like Troy Trygstad focused their teachings on collaboration. During his class on clinically-integrated networks, Trygstad emphasized the importance of networks like CPESN that are actively working to unite all sectors of the health care system. “We need to get the rest of the health care system to think about pharmacy differently and learn more about pharmacy,” he said during his presentation. “Then, they will see the benefit in partnering with pharmacy.”
“We love coming to Connect. We get to see all of our customers face to face, and we always have great conversations with all the people we do business with.” – Amy Rushing, SolutionsRx
PioneerRx’s Education Department debuted a new initiative at the conference: JumpStart. The new JumpStart classes offer a unique opportunity for PioneerRx users to cover in-depth topics like med sync and inventory in a longer class that allows for more detailed instruction and hands-on, interactive learning. “The idea behind JumpStart is that there are so many interrelated pieces of PioneerRx that work together for successful medication synchronization and perpetual inventory,” explains Will Tuft, JumpStart instructor. “It’s challenging to cover that in a 50-minute class, so we are taking the extra time to see how all these areas work together.” The Education Department is currently working on offering multiple JumpStart classes throughout the year in different regions to make them more accessible for PioneerRx users.
“There are so many people to connect with. We’re only two days in, and I have twenty new ideas I’m taking back and implementing. I go to so many different conferences, and this is the most rewarding conference of them all.” – Parth Parikh, Pico Care Pharmacy
The goal of Connect is in its name – to connect. Each year, we look forward to seeing new and familiar attendees and vendors and bringing them together in one place. When you’re in a room with hundreds of members of your industry, you can’t help but share ideas and walk away with new inspiration. After all, you could go at it alone, but would you really want to?
Make plans to attend Connect 2018 in Nashville June 8-10. We’ll be releasing details about next year’s conference soon!
