Shreveport, LA – In June, McKesson awarded Rex Pharmacy as its 2016 Pharmacy of the Year at the ideaShare Conference. The Atlantic, Iowa, pharmacy earned the award for its surge in clinical services, especially medication synchronization.
Rex Pharmacy saw a 20% store growth after shifting its focus to outcomes and initiating clinical services. One of these services, the medication synchronization program, has 415 patients currently enrolled. “We started our program manually on paper, and after hitting a certain number of patients, it was very difficult to manage,” says Josh Borer, owner of Rex Pharmacy. “With PioneerRx’s pharmacy software, it’s easier on our workflow, and the available tools really help with the synchronization.”
In the future, Borer plans to continue improving patient health with new services. “Just take that first step,” he advises. “Synchronization is the number one way to make a change in your pharmacy’s performance.”
